Hey L.A. experts...Where's a good beach hotel?

My family and I will be on vacation in L.A. this summer and are looking for a good hotel on the beach, or at least very close, that is also not too far from Disneyland. Thanks!

Shutters on the Beach. Their website is www.shuttersonthebeach.com.

The Crowne Plaza on Redondo is quite nice, right in the yacht harbour.

You might try somewhere in Laguna Beach. There are many to choose from and Laguna is definitely a place to see. It's about 25 minutes from Disneyland. One suggestion is the Surf & Sand Hotel right on Main Beach in Laguna. You might also try Newport Beach. Closer to Disneyland and lots of fun activities for kids and adults. There is an old fashioned Fun Zone at the Balboa Pavillion that's great after a hot afternoon at the beach. I would not stay in Anaheim. It's a pit. And be aware that MAJOR road and Disneyland construction is happening right now, so go EARLY EARLY EARLY because the roads and parking are a mess. Trust me, I live close enough to hear the fireworks every night at 9:35 p.m.

Hi, I also agree with Laguna Beach---it's totally crazy So Cal beach town or Newport Beach. We used to stay at Casa Laguna Inn but it's become too weird and too noisy with the PCH traffic all night. The premier resort is Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel, but it's not in town and if you're going to Disney you most likely will have kids in tow and that wouldn't be a place for them. Don't know about the construction--we were just in LA but not in Anaheim. There's a great guide book "Disneyland and Beyond" for family tips and advice published by Ulysses Press in Berkeley, CA, (510) 601-8301

Thought of one other suggestion, but call them and book ahead--------Capri Laguna is a motel type place on the beach BUT they have kitchen facilities, pool and barbecues for families---not too expensive. (714) 494-6533

Shutters is great but it's nowhere near Disneyland. You ought to look into Huntington Beach, Newport Beach or Laguna.

In as much as the OP needed this info more than 8 years ago, your advice is too late.

Franklyman has decided it is important to top some really, REALLY old threads all w/ the same exact message. Seems to be a silly Vendetta, especially since he doesn't give any reasons/details.
