Got our son Magellan Roadmate 360 - found it for best price at Amazon.

Out of box, it still thought it was in California - we are near Boston (where company is located) for about an hour - even though it says first time may take up to 15 minutes to locate itself the first time.

Amazingly simple to use, although instruction book could be better. It was easily able to navigate simple route to Grandma's for dinner. Will continue to check it out for local destinations befroe trusting it in unfamiliar territory.

I am totally fine with using the GPS from Hertz myself. Though I have seen some interesting prices for Magellan - who needs another gadget in the bag? I did find a new spot for hertz rental car deals which makes the gps add on more bareable...here is a set of deals from AAA, AARP, Amex, Visa, etc:
