Hershey, PA/Amish Country, PA

Am planning to visit both this weekend. Any tips on where to eat in either place. Is there much to do in Hershey besides the amusement park?

I highly recommend Miller's Smorgasbord in Ronks. Are you the same person who posted the same request under the initials BM?
I can't remember where we ate but I thought the tour of the factory was cheesey. This has been ten years ago but you rode in carts past lots of posters and displays. At the end, you receive TWO Hershey's Kisses and were directed to the gift shop (which was nice). They have an amusement park and zoo. I thought both were ok but nothing special.

The story of Milton Hershey is a real rags-to-riches story. He left a large amount of money to the Hershey School (I think).

Mike Honeycutt

I'd say stay in Lancaster, PA for the 2 days it's much better than Hershey.

Hotel Hershey is very nice...excellent food. Not much else in Hershey.. There are nice antique shops in the Hershey Lancaster area. Lots of good Amish homestyle restuarants in Lancaster area. We like the Bird in Hand - Intercourse area. The train museum is really nice in Strausburg. Lots of old trains and you can take a steam engine ride out to the countryside..even get off for a picnic lunch and catch the next train back.
