Hermosa Beach
Has anyone stayed at the Sea Sprite in Hermosa Beach?
|
The only thing the Sea Sprite has going for it is its location. The rooms and facility are dumpy and the management is surly and unreasonable.

I walked by the Sea Sprite this afternoon. I agree with everything lvk said (except I don't know if the mgmt is surly and unreasonable...the place is certain a dump, just an old rundown motel that happens to be on a great stretch of beach).

sf7307, Don't you love that hideous blue stucco?
If you want an example of their management style, just take a look at the answers to their FAQ's: www.seaspritemotel.com/faqs.htm - especially their reservation deposit policy. |
I commented to my friend about the blue paint, that that appeared to be all the "maintenance" they had done -- which is to spray the entire thing "peacock blue" without doing any repairs first!
|
Lolz. My friend who stayed at Sea Sprite said exactly the same thing plus some cursing.
|
sf7307, they probably don't do any structural repairs, because then they might have to comply with ADA laws. From their website: "The SPRITE is an older facility and does not have first floor accommodations for the Physically Impaired."
|
Interesting thought, although they could actually be required to make those changes even without making other structural repairs, under the "public accommodations" part of the ADA, unless they can prove financial hardship (which I'm actually guessing they might be able to do, from the looks of the place :-) )
