Have you ever used a stretch limo service? I found the Royal Pacific Limo Service in the Entertainment coupon book and am using them for our trip from Airport to HHV. We're surprising our kids with a stretch limo ride.

Anyway, just wondered if anyone out there in fodor land has used them how was there experience. There's SO MANY limo services!

When I go to O`ahu for an overnight business trip, it's just not worth the hassle to rent a car -- so I just hail a cab.

The last 2 times I've done this, I've been surprised to get a stretch limo -- same price as a cab. Kinda silly to ride solo, but folks at the hotel sure perk up when one of these pull up to the door! :-)

We've been lucky and gotten limos in the taxi lines in Honolulu a few times as well. Looks really nice pulling up to our house!

Many limos moonlight as metered cabs, and all cabs charge the exact same rates in Honolulu. Of course, If you want only a limo, and don't want to rely on luck, you have to pre-order and pay limo (trip or hourly) prices!

I emailed Royal Pacific Limo service and was able to get a discounted rate using the Entertainment coupon. Yes, the coupon does specify 3hr minimum, but he agreed to let me use the coupon for the airport to HHV ride. Cost $40. Since taxi is $30, thought the extra $10 cost was worth it for limo ride vs. taxi cab.

My concern related more in regards to the company Royal Pacific. Wondered if anyone has used them.

Thanks! I guess if the experience doesn't work out, I'll just find another Limo in line at the airport. Sounds like you can hail one down just like a cab.

well, actually you can't just hail one...you have to wait in the taxi line, and it is strictly the luck of the draw if one shows up when it's your turn.

shoot, if you have to pay for 3 hours, I'd draw up a mini tour (not three hours, but maybe one.

Have him take you thru Waikiki, then through kapiolani park, around the outside of Diamond head, then back into Waikiki to your hotel. Or, have him take you up to Punchbowl and walk up to the lookout. Drive thru a McDonalds. Or if you aren't too tired from the plane, do all!

I talked them into letting me use the coupon for the airport to HHV trip, I'm not planning to use them for the 3hr trip.

Oh, sorry. I should have said if they made you take the three hours with the coupon, then I'd take a tour on the way in from the airport!

Since HHV is at the beginning of Waikiki, you might still ask if they can take a quick spin down Kalakaua Ave to the park, then come back to HHV. It would only be any extra 5-10 minutes and you'd get a fast orientation of Waikiki, plus have all the tourists try to peek in your windows!

Benihana's has regular chairs. The only difference in comparison to other restaurants. The Japanese Chefs cook right in front of your group on a grill which the table is set around. I believe each "grill" has seating for eight. SO, you will be sharing the table with another group which I always find fun! Sometimes you end up with a truly fun group and it makes it more enjoyable. So, no problem for people with bad back! ALOHA!
