hendersonville, North Carolina
Hi, We will be traveling to Hendersonville this summer. Does anyone know of any resonable hotels or motels in the area? Thanks Honda

You'll find all the chains in H'ville -- Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, Ramada Limited, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, and Red Roof Inn, then there are a lot of funky old, but restored, 50's style motor courts in Flat Rock. There are also great lodging choices in Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, and Gerton, east of town down in the Hickory Nut Gorge.

There are also lots of bed and breakfast inns like the Claddagh and Waverly Inns, plus the Mary Mills Coxe House, Melange Bed and Breakfast, plus many more. I can't keep track of them all.

Bear in mind that rates will be highest in summer, because that's high tourist season, rivalled only by October leaf season.

Oh yes, I forgot... there's also a large Best Western in Hendersonville.

One of those "funky" places mentioned above is the Briarwood Motel on Route 25 (Greenville Highway) between Hendersonville and Flat Rock. When I worked at the Flat Rock Playhouse, had numerous budget minded friends stay there and all were happy. It should be less expensive than the major chain places.

For towns like this, I think a tour book from AAA is very valuable!! Are you a member, or can you get an AAA member friend to pick you up one for free?

Jeez... I just realized now that I'm checking this after work many hours later, that I posted Comfort Inn twice. Sorry about that... I meant to type Quality Inn.
