Help You did it b4 flight to dc

I know this is not the best place to ask this, FODORS is not about the best flight, but I am a disabled pvet who has a hard time sitting at the computer searching for flights. I need to get myself and one 16 yr old child from Lincoln NE or Omaha NE to Wash DC on or around the 16th of May, staying for 10 days/ 2weeks. FLEXIBLE AS HECK on dates....ONLY flight, I can stay with family, PLEASE HELP!!!

Southwest flies from Omaha to Wash. I found May 14 $99 one person one way, coming back May 27 $109.

Sothwest seats are not assigned, as you are disabled, at the gate desk ask for pre-boarding pass (blue) to board earlier and get a comfortable seat. Your child goes with you to pre-board, or you can save the 2nd seat.

If these dates are not convenient, check weekdays, usually weekends are more expensive.

Orbitz allows a search for non-stop only and flexible dates. May 14 - May 26 or 27 $239 on Midwest non-stop for 1 person.

I searched kayak.com (can't book here, just search prices), and found multiple Northwest flights from Omaha to Dulles or Reagan for $217 per person non-stop (that would be before taxes and fees).

Book directly at www.nwa.com

It may make a difference to you which airport you arrive in. There are 3 airports in the Washington,D.C. area but not all of them are close to D.C.

Southwest flies to Baltimore-Washington airport (BWI) which is in Maryland and is about 45 minutes from D.C. depending on traffic.

Dulles Airport is in Virginia and is also about 45 minutes from D.C.

National Airport (aka Reagan National) is in Arlington, Virginia and is just across the Potomac River from D.C. It is clearly the closest airport to D.C.

What are you looking for? Best fare, most direct, best time, or what?

If you are disabled, you would likely prefer a direct flight. We (Omaha) have non-stop service to Reagan National on Midwest. That however, isn't going to the cheapest if that is what you are looking for.
