If the hotel is asking for a card for both payment of the room and incidentals, then I would have your office either send a written authorization for the billing (if the hotel will accept this) or have them overnight your corporate card to you. How can they expect you to travel without carrying your corporate card anyway?

If they need a card for incidentals only, then consider just using your personal card. The hotel will put a temporary credit hold on your card, and if there are no incidentals then there will be nothing billed. A temporary credit hold shouldn't affect your refi. Even if you have some incidental charges, I don't think the amount will be large enough to make much of a difference, will it? Just how much are we talking about here?

BTW I've never checked into a hotel and NOT been asked for a credit card.

Wondering if everything has calmed down and how you are enjoying Seattle?

I hate it when we never find out how the story ends.

I haven't read the other responses and it may be too late anyway, but a lot of hotels, (at least in my town) will accept a card for payment that the guest does not have with them, IF a copy of the card front and back is faxed to them, along with the front and back of the drivers license of the person on the card. That way, they are covered in case someone tries to use a card they don't have authority to use, and it will cover incidentals as well.
