?? Help with Sacto Airport Hwy Approach??
Have checked various info websites, but still not clear about traffic impact on I-5 to SMF (Sac Inter. Airport). We are catching a plane Tues morning and usually drive through Davis/Woodland Hwy 113 to I-5 to the airport. With the I-5 construction will there be any delay or problem for us tomorrow morning? Thanks.

Good question elnap, from I-80 we have always taken Hwy 113 to 1-5 also. But I did hear on one of the Sacramento TV stations about the I-5 construction. Maybe if you call the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce they could advise you if no locals post your needed information.

elnap, here is the St. of CA website, I hope it is of some help.

I don't think you will have a problem. Only real hang up is on I-5 downtown in the "boat" area. If you hit I-5 north of the airport, no problemo. If you come in from I-80 to Reno and then onto I-5 you totally miss the constuction.

I-5 north of town and near the 113 junction/Woodland is not in any way impacted by the construction project.
The work is all in downtown Sac. |
Web site refers to highway 50 and Richards Blvd--which
. are in downtown area..The part of I-5 that you will use is not effected. I love this airport.... |

You will be fine. The only portion closed is right in downtown Sacto. Here is a link to the fix I-5 website: www.fixI5.com Have a fun trip. MY |
A huge thank you to everyone. Fodorites always come through!

Not that it will effect your drive, but the local news said that CALTRANS just said they will not open the SB until 1:00 PM on Thursday rather than 8:30 AM Tuesday.
Apparently, the heat this last week had slowed down the process so they need more time to finish. Stage 4, the north bound will now close at 8:00 PM on Friday instead of Thursday. |
