Help with NYC hotel
Hi,
I am looking for a hotel in NYC for memorial Day weekend. I know its a little early but we have a larger group(6 people -3 rooms) Does anyone have any reccomendations for a nice place under $200 a night? Preferably closer to 150? I always get burned in NY with cheap hotels. I don't near Penn station or Downtown |
Don't know what you define as "downtown" but the Park South Hotel (in the 20's) usually has good weekend deals. Look at packages on their website (it may be too early for your dates but you could email them) at Parksouthhotel.com
Another option, go to affinia.com & check out their hotels. They're all suite hotels & some even have 2 bedrooms if 4 want to be together. The Shelburne is often touted here. |
PS Just read on another thread that you can sign up at affinia.com for email specials. Since you have some time, thta sounds like a good idea.

Thanks So far the ParkSouth looks great Affina seems to be over my budget, but I may need to wait a month or so for more rates to come out. The only problem I have with The park south is the location. I like the loaction but it might be nicer to stay closer to times square. Any other ideas? Has anyone stayed at the holiday inn on 57th?

Don't know about the HI (where is it on 57th?) but poeple have been posting excellent things about the Comfort Inn on west 46th (on or near 6th ave). It's part of a budget group of hotels called Applecore. (The other Comfort Inns are evidently terrible).
Also, people have been using Priceline for the midtown east Marriott. Evidently it's the only 2.5 star hotel in midtown east so if you bid 2.5 stars in mte you get it. People have paid around $75/night. I don't know if you can bid for 3 rooms on Priceline, but have a look on biddingfortravel.com |
I love the Park South and have stayed there recently but, the rooms are tiny. Really small tiny.
I've stayed at all of the Affina hotels except the Benjamin and give them a huge thumbs up. The rooms are very large and have kitchens. |
The location of the Park South is excellent. What don't you like about the locale?
