HELP with Nice downtown hotel off the river in San Antonio

Looking for clean, nice lodging near the river but not necessarily on river front. Good location for walking.
IF there is none, what do you recommend on the river? Drury?
THANKS!

The Adam's Mark is about two or three blocks from the rest of the Riverwalk and is a very nice hotel.

Also, on the Riverwalk, the Hyatt is very nice, yet in a quiet area.

Hi Cedar, there are a lot of good options downtown--are you trying to stay within a certain budget? Is there a reason you're avoiding the River? With a little more info I will try to help you find what you're looking for

I think under $100 (I always like to check the higher end and then look for special "deals")and I am looking for quiet.
Maybe the river will work if it is away from the touristy areas.
I will check the Hyatt and Adams Mark.
Thanks!

Hi cedar, a recent poster had good luck at AmeriSuites--it's located off the river but within walking distance to all major attractions downtown. Price was less than $100 and included breakfast. Good luck!

We love the Wyndham St. Anthony which is a block off the Riverwalk.

We stayed at the Days Inn on Columbus Day weekend. It is just a block from the Alamo and another from the Riverwalk. By booking ahead, we got a rate of $60. The walk in rate that day was $125 and they were filling up fast.
