Help with Maui

We will be in Maui next week. Kids would love to have a jeep to drive around in while we are there but, we have too many bags to get from the airport to the Ho'olei Wailea. Does anyone know how much a taxi would be or if there is any other way some of us could get to the condo? Thanks.

Where is the condo? How many people and how many bags? Will you rent a car once you get where you're going (it's a good idea on Maui)?

Are you going to rent a vehicle?

Are you all going to fit into a taxi with your luggage? I think the taxis have limits on the number of passengers, too, as everyone must have a seat belt.

I think the OP was suggesting that they would rent the Jeep and some of the people and luggage would travel in the Jeep while the rest of the people and luggage would travel in a taxi. Once there, without the luggage, all people would be able to travel in the Jeep...It's just the luggage taking up room on the way to and from the airport. They are staying in Wailea.

To the OP - If I understood your post correctly, I would just check with either the place you are staying and/or a taxi company for estimated fare to and from the airport.

I don't know of any other way that you would all get to your hotel with your luggage short of renting the Jeep and having someone drive to the hotel, drop off the first group, drive back to the airport, pick up the second group, go back to the hotel. Too much driving for my taste.

This taxi service says $65 one way from airport to Wailea:

$65 ?

You could rent an extra car for a day for less than that :)

Thanks everyone. We are in Maui now. Ended up renting the jeep and sending two people on the Speedishuttle. Worked out great and was cheaper than renting a larger car.

Aloha <blue>flit</black>, what can you tell us about Ho'olei ((?)) Are the units as nice inside as they look outside :?

We are in a three bedroom unit that is above the pool. Very nice location. Since they are privately owned, each unit is furnished differently. Ours is very nice. I'm not sure I am a fan of the layout, the master is downstairs with another bedroom and laundry room and one bedroom up with the living areas. Also our patio is visable to our neighbors and they were out at 6am yesterday with a small child being very loud, not enjoyable. Patio has a very nice grill that we used for lunch today. Will be here for 6 more days if anyone has any questions.
