HELP with Los Angeles!!!
We are coming to LA in April and we are trying to find a good hotel in a decent location. We know that no hotel can be centrally located because LA is so large but we need help. WE are not quite sure of what area to stay in? Please keep in mind we are not looking to spend a fortune but we would like to be comfortable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. You can e-mail us at [email protected].

Thank you in advance.

Mara, you will probably get some good responses, but you need to be more specific. What is important to you in a hotel location? What are you trying to do/see while you are here? What is your budget per night?

CA N

We are looking to see all the main attractions in LA, for instance...Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Disneyland, Santa Monica and the Beaches. We are looking to spend anywhere from $125.00 to $150.00 per night. It would be a plus if there was free parking. I hope this helps make my questions easier.

Mara

Check out the Hacienda Hotel in El Segundo. It is close to LAX, so connections are easy. It is close to the 105 freeway, so access is easy.

With all respect to John... If I were visiting LA for the first time, I wouldn't want to stay in El Segundo....nothing to do in the way our tourist spots and not terrifically Esthetic. Are you planning on doing:
1) Beach
Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Laguna Niguel, Redondo Beach
2) Movies
Universal City, Hollywood, West Hollywood
3) Shopping
Beverly Hills, Downtown LA, West Hollywood or Hollywood
Let us know what you like and we can let you know what we think. Welcome to LA
I direct most travelers to LA to stay in Santa Monica. You are close to the beach, close to Third Street which is an area with shops and restaurants, you can get to Beverly Hills and museums easily. Don't stay near Disneyland no matter what deal you get--it is far from everything but Disneyland.
For your price range try The Huntley Hotel, The Doubletree or the Holiday Inn in Santa Monica. I think the Santa Monica website is www.smo.com. Call soon as they sell out quickly.
For your needs as you describe them, I think Alisa has offered good recommendations. Check the other LA threads for some interesting offbeat ideas. Have fun.

CA n
