Help with lodging in Chincoteague
Hi All,

We have a choice of either The Refuge or 1848 Manor House in Chincoteague in November. I know the first is a motel and the latter a B&B, but wonder if anyone has comments on either. We've never been to Chincoteague, so haven't an idea on location or appeal. Perhaps someone prefers another place. If so, let us know.

I stayed at a motel in Chincoteague once, as all of the B&Bs were booked. Can't say for 100% sure it was the Refuge, but that sounds really familar.

Anyway, the hotel we stayed at was basically a dump. Smelled of mold and mildew. Just not very nice at all.

There's a terrifc B&B uptown, near the Main Street, but I cannot recall the name. You have to be careful about where you stay - the pickings are very lean in this town. Most people rent houses! In November, this place will be dead! You can drive out to Assateague, and if you do, plan to take the nature tour, and walk the beach. The restaurants here are very so-so, very local. You might want to go up to Rehobeth for a day.

Gee, now I'm confused about The Rufuge. Anyone else have any comments on it?

How about suggestions for places to eat?

Hi, Sandy. I was in Chintcoteague this summer for along weekend. I have never been in the fall or winter months but if you get a chance type in www.chincoteaguechamber.com it has alot of info and a picture of the B&B you are asking about plus and other places to stay. They also have two major motels to stay at right on Main Street. Two rest. that people recommended to us but not sure if they are opening during this time is The Village and a Itl. rest. right before Maddox Campground on Maddox blvd. If you have any other questions I have a July local newspaper and a small information guide.
