Help with LA trip

We will be stopping in LA for a few days in July, (husband, 19 and 21 yr old kids and myself). Son wants to go to a dodgers game and go to theme park (probably Six Flags, loves roller coasters), daughter wants to go see the Queen Mary and the more touristy things, walk of fame, etc. Have no idea where the best place to stay would be, any ideas? Want to go to the game the day we fly in, should we stay someplace close to the stadium the first night and move somewhere else the next day? Thanks for the help.

It doubt that it would be necessary to stay close to Dodger Stadium. Are you flying into LAX? What time do you arrive? What day?

July 17th will be our arrival day, in the afternoon.

The only Dodger home games in July are on 7/1 (day), 7/16-17 (nights), 7/18-19 (days), 7/20-22 (nights), 7/24-25 (nights) and 7/26 (day). If you pick a day game, and you're sensitive to heat and/or sun, you'll need to pick your seats carefully. Outfield bleacher seats and anything on the field level in the first several rows will be brutal.

I'd pick one place to stay. West Hollywood is fairly central to the in-town places on your list (Dodger Stadium, Hollywood, Universal or Warner Bros. Studios, etc.). It's about an hour's drive to Long Beach and to Magic Mountain. It will be hot at MM.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, want to go to a night game for sure, hopefully on the 17th. We lived in Houston for a number of years and I know it is going to be awful at any theme park this time of year. Do you have any suggestions on specific hotels?
