Help with itinerary to Florida please!

Planning on travelling to Florida for 3 weeks in June/July with my husband and two sons ages 12 and 14. Looking at maybe 10 days in Clearwater beach at either the Sea Captain or Charthouse Suites (both have efficiencies). Any ideas on where we should go for second week or 10 days? Thanks for feedback, much appreciated.

How about Sarasota area, which is about 1 1/2 hours south from Clearwater? It's another beach, but a much different setting. There's plenty of water sports to do down there, plus St. Armand's Circle, which is an area of shops and restaurants that's very popular.

Are the sharks still eating people on Florida beaches?

We just returned from a week in Clearwater Beach....did not like it! The beach is beautiful but there is not much going on if you don't like dolphin watches, t-shirt shops and lousy food.
Sarasota is a good suggestion, as well as the Keys, particularly Key West.

fla,
the sharks are eating people at all beaches. They just tried to eat in Hawaii. So it's not just Florida. Moron.

ck flausa.com-----it will be hot those 2 months.so I`d try to stay where you`ll at least some wind off the water....maybe take a 3-4 day cruise out of Tampa or Port Canaveral.....maybe a trip to the keys.....Disney etc. will be hotter than Hades....try Adventure Island ..part of Busch Gardens...r arm Mineral Springs

the travel book, magazine and website company that also begins with "F" had suggested itinerary for visits to lesser known Florida locations a few months ago.

I agree with the suggestion of Sarasota-whitest sand beach in US on Siesta, fun and inexpensive attractions & museums, largest state park in Florida (Myakka. I know a lot of folks also take advantage of some of the unbelievable summer camp programs during vacation offered by places such as Mote Marine Laboratory-kids get a fantastic introduction to marine science
