Help with Hudson Valley Cruise!

We want to do a Hudson valley cruise on a Sunday in June in/around Westchester county. Lunch suggestions alongside will be very appreciated. Thank you.

Are you taking a private craft or is this a day liner from somewhere? What is the route and how much time will you have to leave the ship if it is in fact a "public" trip? That will help alot in getting suggestions.

Sorry... here are some more details. We will be going from NYC and CT and wanted to get together with friends for some effor-less sightseeing and a meal. Definitely a 'public' trip. Thanks.

The Hudson River Valley doesn't go near CT - without a drive of a good distance.

I am still confused. Are you wanting to go on a boat on the Hudson River or are you looking do drive in a car?

If you are going on a boat: http://www.hudsonriver.com/cruises.htm

I think you need to check these itineraries. to my knowledge the boats go upstream from Manhattan (a pain for you CT friends) or from a town further upriver. But I don;t think you get to stop for meals (I think you just sit on the boat and eat wheatever snacks they have on board).

I think you can stop and look for a place for lunch only if you have your own boat.

Hudson Highlands runs a boat out of Peekskill - about 1hr North of NYC (could take Metro North), or about the same distance driving from Greenwich CT.

Some clarifications - we are 4 families - from CT, Nyack, Jersey city and NYC. Want to spend a day catching-up and do an activity involving minimal input, which means no biking, hiking etc. We are all mobile in cars, but don't have a boat. Had heard that one can do 2-3 hour cruises on the Hudson river, around Croton. Want to know if anybody can recommend something. A good family-kind of place for lunch nearby would be great. And if you have suggestions for an activity other than cruise, would love to hear about it. We are spendin the previous day in NYC and want to be out in the open on Sunday. Any suggestions appreciated.
