Help with hotels in Theatre District

We are going to NYC in several weeks--3 women--for one night. It's our yearly trip and this time we're staying overnight. Could someone please let me know what they think of these choices. The Palace, Hilton Times Square, Radio City Apartments, or Hotel Edison. We would like to pay around $250 and have a clean, good size place with nice surroundings. Thank you!

Last year we (me and my family) stayed at Sheraton Manhatan and I recommend it, nice hotel and near to everything and you can find a very good rate at www.180096hotel.com.
As to the hotels you mentioned, some friends stayed at Hilton and liked it.

Thank you--any other suggestions?

Joan, I would suggest the Palace as one of the nicest hotels in town. It was rennovated a couple of years ago and the lobby is really beautiful. The rooms are nicely done and good size. I always put friends and clients up there when they come to town and everyone has loved it.

The hotel also has one of the best restaurants in the country in one of the wings, Cirque 2000.

Hope you have a wonderful time here and please let me know if you need any more info.

tweedy

Hi Joan:

I work in NYC and on occasion have stayed in town. Question: Are you planning on sharing one room for $250?

Check out the website "quickbbok.com" They have bargains every once and while. At least you get a feel for the going rates.

JOHN

We stayed at the Edison for three nights in January. Would definitely stay there again. Small, but safe, friendly, and convenient location.

Joan: I'm reposting an answer I recently gave to another query.

Message: My boyfriend's folks just stayed at the new Hilton Times Square, and we visited their room, with which they were very pleased. The street entrance is just a small doorway on 42d St., and you take an elevator to the 23d floor lobby. The lobby's not real large or luxurious, but s fine. The rooms are on floors 24-44 and all face north or south. They were on the 38th floor, and the room was quite spacious by NYC standards, with a huge bed, good-size table with chairs, and armchair, and still a good amount of walking-around space. The window was huge, with a good view that included the Hudson as well as Times Square and beyond. it was quiwt, as well. You could probably request a north- or south-side room. They usually stay at the Hilton near Rockefeller Ctr, but really preferred the view at the Times Square location. They were there the week after it opened, and everything was running totally smoothly.

P.S. I don't know about rates, as they were using Hilton Rewards points.
