Haua Tree Lanai at New Otani hotel has a beautiful setting on the beach at the quiet end heading towards DiamondHead.
Anywhere along Waikiki beach gets you a beautiful view, all the hotels have restaurants. Duke's, Shorebird, Ocean House, etc. You might want to start a new thread of your own, to get more replies, since this OP is a couple years old? |
If you will be in the Chinatown area, I will recommend Duc's Bistro ( open for lunch and dinner ), Indigo ( also lunch and dinner ) Re: Indigo, they have lunch buffet which is very reasonably priced. Their happy hour is even better ( from 5 pm till the food runs out ) They serve most of the items from the lunch buffet, you just have to order 1 DRINK, any drink including soda, to partake of the bounty. Very good and filling. If you eat dinner early, you will have enough to last you until bedtime. For best selection, plan on being there by 5 pm when they are bringing out the pupus. Epic Restaurant, also in Chinatown on Nuuanu St, is also very good. They offer a 3 course set menu for lunch, which is priced very reasonable. Little Village Seafood, also in Chinatown, is also very good.
I suggest you include Chinatown in your itinerary for places to eat. Lots of good restaurants there. If you go during lunch, it's a nice way to see the workaday, office workers and working class population of Honolulu. |
A few "Cheap Eats" articles:
http://www.latimes.com/travel/la-trw...8.photogallery http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/Global/...1&nav=menu55_7 This article will only be free for about 30 days (which is almost up). So make a list from it. After 30 days Honolulu Advertiser articles will still be available, but you will have to pay fro them. http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/ar...307/Cheap+eats This is a more permanent Honolulu advertiser article. It has a "Cheap Eats" section as well as best restaurants. http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/sp...ants095/browse |

We recently had a fabulous special dinner at Bali at the HHV. We were celebratng out 40th anniversary coming up in May and decided to spend the evening at the HHV where we honeymooned. After the Friday night Hawaiian music show (we did not get ticketed seats but just watched as we walked to the beach) and the spectacular fireworks, we walked to Bali for dinner. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We loved the restaurant and the ocean front table with the night views of Waikiki.
