help with Hawaii please
Have lots of mileage and thinking of going to Hawaii at end of August with 2 adults, 2 children 8 and 11.
Would fly into Honolulu.
Please give any recommendations for hotels, places to visit, tips, etc!! Any condos? Not looking for highest price hotels.
Thanks!

Try Priceline for hotel. As for things to do, here are some suggestions (no particular order):
1. Pearl Harbor
2. Hike Diamond Head (kids will enjoy)
3. Snorkel at Hanauma Bay
4. Visit Waikiki Beach (of course)
5. Go to North Shore

Resortquest has some decent condos in Waikiki not far from the beach. Waikiki Banyon & Waikiki Sunset. I think they are offering 4th night free.

Don't count on being able to use FF miles with such a short notice.

Call the airline first and see if you can get the free tickets. Four tickets last minute are hard to come by.
If all goes well, then look into the hotels available. I would check trip advisor for reviews and decide how much you can spend. Buy a book on Hawaii (like Oahu Revealed). This will give you great ideas on what not to miss. You can also type Oahu in the search and get tons of old posts on people asking what to do. Dusty usually gives great info and has some old threads with zillions of info on Oahu.
If you can't get tickets to Oahu, see if the airline flies to Maui or Kona. Delta flies direct to Kona from Atlanta. You can then try a different island.
We liked the Hiltons on both Oahu and the Big Island of Hawaii. Your kids would love these locations as well. They are large resorts with lots to do. I don't know the pricing because we used points, but you may want to check these hotels out. Good luck.
