Help with El Segundo hotel
 

We want to stay in a NICE, although not necessarily luxurious, hotel for one night prior to an early morning flight out of LAX. Has anyone stayed at the Doubletree Club in El Segundo or a nearby hotel? We want one that offers Park, Sleep, and Fly.

Have stayed at the Hacienda Hotel which I wouldn't call particularly NICE, but was clean and served its purpose. Doubletree Club gets terrible reviews so we avoided it. You may want Courtyard, Four Points or Embassy Suites though I'm not sure that they all offer park 'n fly.

I've done park and fly at the Doubletree in El Segundo twice, and am scheduled to do the same in December. I think it's a great location and rate for park n' fly- rooms are clean, the shuttle is dependable, and chocolate chip cookies are warm.

Thanks for comments so far. I mentioned the Doubletree because the rate at the Doubletree Club is significantly lower than at many of the hotels closer to the airport, like the Crowne Plaza, Renaissance, Marriott, Radisson, and Westin (the most expensive).

I thought I'd give this one more try, in the evening.
I'm now leaning toward the Renaissance, because we would be on the concierge level, but I would love to know if it is worth the extra cost.

Please excuse my extreme ignorance on this subject, but could you tell me what exactly is Park, Sleep, and Fly? Is that a deal where you can spend the night at the hotel, then leave your car parked at there while you are travelling? Thanks.

Park and Fly means you spend one night at the hotel, fly out the next morning, and they tend your car while you are gone. This is a significant savings at LAX if you are going to be gone for a few days; very helpful for early morning flights as well. For the cost of one night's lodging, we spend the night, get shuttled to the airport (5 minutes away), and avoid a parking fee. Take the hotel shuttle back upon our return.

We're doing it because our flight is at 8:30 am, which means we have to be at the airport around 6:30 am, and we don't live close to LAX. Unfortunately, most of the hotels only provide seven nights of parking with their park, sleep, and fly, so we will still have to pay an additional fee for our extra nights of parking.

This is a GREAT hotel near the airport.

I've used the Doubletree a couple times and I really enjoy the hotel. The rooms are super comfortable with really good beds. You can't beat the staff for being helpful and their breakfasts are great - not much else can be said for a really nice hotel with good rates!

Ayres is a new chain to me, but the web site sure makes it look nice. I will check it out. Thanks.
