help with DC, Phila, Boston and NY trip
 

Need your help with our Itinerary to DC, Philadephia, Boston and NY.
We fly into DC late evening on the 5th of September
DC 5, 6, 7, 8.
Phila 9, 10
?? 11
NY 12, 13
We will be on a NewEngland cruise from 14 to 21.
Staying one more nite in NY
Flying home late 22.

We will be have one day in Boston with our cruise.

Question:
Our thought is to spend the 11th in Boston? or shall we just add a day to one of the other three cities, and which one?

Just add a day to New York. A one-day excursion to Boston will get eaten up in travel time.

Unless you have been to NYC before you are really cutting it short. It has much more to see/do than Boston of Philly (both places I like - but there is no comparison) and at least as much as DC. Definitely add any extra days to NYC.

we have three full days in DC and three and half in NY, shall we add that extra day to DC?

We have been to NY years ago for only one day, never been the other three.

We know absolutely nothing about you (your age, interests, whether or not you've ever been to any of these places). In general, as others have said you've allotted to much time in Washington and Phil already vs. NYC. 4 days in Washington and only 2 or 3 in NYC makes no sense, not to mention giving Phil. 2 days.

give a 3rd day to NYC no question... you might be able to see a show, broadway or off broadway... central park, the museums, midtown, downtown.... just so much to do

Definitely add the extra day to NYC.

I agree with the others who suggested to add on a day to NYC...so much to see and do (I've lived in the suburbs of NYC my whole life and still have so much to see!). Boston is great but deserves at least 2 days.

As others have said, it is difficult to answer your questions in a meaningful way without knowing more about you, your family, and your interests. That said, I have been to New York and Philly several times and reside in the DC area. I don't think that Philly has anywhere near as many things to offer as either of the other two cities (Sorry Philly fans!) and it seems as if you are shortchanging New York. I know how tempting it is to keep adding more destinations when you don't have a clear idea of when you will next be in a certain corner of the world, but I would recommend spending more time in less places...whether that means reconfiguring to spend several days in Boston and New York and cutting out DC and Philly altogether, or choosing NY and DC and cutting out Philly and Boston on this trip. Whatever you do, have fun!
