Help with corporate apt rentals in the Tucson Area

We have been looking to stay in the Tucson area for about a month this coming winter. I had found a corporate apartment but now I am getting leary after reading reviews..granted they are all pretty old....Please advise..the complex is called Canyon Oaks.

I don't know if that area would be my first choice, but for the prices on the website are pretty darn cheap. Tucson has a LOT of snowbird-friendly rentals. Have you checked VRBO? You might also take a look at this site: http://www.starrpassrentals.com/. We hike around there often and it's a gorgeous area.

I only say that because it's not one of the neighborhoods I would normally think of a visitor staying in. But, I don't know that side of town all that well either - it may be just fine. What are your plans for your visit?

Just want to get out of Michigan for the winter...last year we stayed in Loma Linda California for my husband's medical treatment,,,we had a great apartment...over 55..beautiful pools etc..wanted something similar where we would have more sun...we like to bike, walk, and just generally be outdoors..

retired, you might want to search for posts by MikePinTucson. I'm not sure if he still posts here, but he is a wealth of information about the area. He has a blog, too.

You may also consider looking into Green Valley (25 miles south of Tucson) since it is mostly a retirement community with many short term rental offerings as well as great recreational opportunities. It is far less crowded than Tucson and closer to Madera Canyon which is excellent for hiking, bird watching, and just enjoying being outside. If you want high end restaurants and big city life then stay with Tucson. Green Valley Chamber.com provides a lot of additional information. In Tucson stay to the north, northwest or foothill areas for the better areas. Either area has great sunshine in the winter!
