help with cali spa

Hello- going to Santa Barbra and then on to orange county (or maybe reverse). Have stayed at Cal- a - vie before, fabulous spa. Looking to maybe change my venue; don't want a hilton type but looking for something that is a real thorough spa experience; cleansing, etc. Thanks

You might want to check the South American forum on info concerning cities in Colombia ;-).

Seriously: I have heard people praise the Ojai Valley Inn Resort & Spa, which is not in Santa Barbara, CA, proper but at least in the area. This is not first hand experience, though.

If you are going to California, best get "cali" out of your system. There is no such place in the US as "cali" and Californians take a very big exception to the term. It would be like calling New York "yorkie".

Curious

and do you have something to add about a spa here or just grammer and spelling??

jillc1,

if you read my post you will see it contains a recommendation.

Another recommendation would be the Four Seasons Biltmore in the Montecito area of Santa Barbara. Top notch hotel, an old property that has been maintained very nicely IMHO, although some complain that it's not up to the chain's standards. I don't share that view.

Here is its website:

After all it's not all about grammar and spelling ;-)!

jillc1, don't let them bug you about Cali. Most of us in CA aren't that uptight that we let someone shortening the name of our state bother us. Yes, my real name is Cali too. Wish I had some spa info but unfortunately I don't. Hope you get some great ideas and have a good time while you are here.
