Help which Sister Inn In Pacific Grove

I am debating between the Green Gables Inn and The Gosby Inn in Pacific Grove. Gosby is less expensive but not right on the water. Has anyone stayed at these inns? Does it make a big enough difference being right on the water to pay the extra? I stayed at a four sisters inn in SF and loved it! Thanks.

We stayed at the Green Gables Inn last September, it's wonderful! Seeing the water from the inn is nice, at nights the fishing boats are lit up & it's very pretty, during the morning while eatting your breakfast you may be able to spot some sea otters at play! The inn itself is exceptional, friendly service & yummy breakfasts...gosh, now I want to go back! P.S. We had the suite on the ground floor, I think it's called the Lacy Suite, if that's available, I'd recommend it.

Green Gables is just such a total experience that I wouldn't try to save money by not staying there. The other wonderful one on the water(or across from it, rather) is Seven Gables. Those would be my two first choices. But, all are wonderful and it's a great town to visit.

We chose the Gosby House because all of the rooms with views and private baths were taken (shared bath were available).
Had a great room in the carriage house at the Gosby House. Spent time walking along, eating along (Old Bath House), golfing and driving along the water, so didn't miss not staying along it that much.

Susan - they have the Lacey Suite available at the Green Gables for the time I am going. My only concern was location on first floor - any problem with noise, people going up and down stairs, things like that? Is it enough removed that privacy wasn't a problem? Thanks.

We didn't have any problems w/ noise, maybe just a little from the kitchen, because the bathroom is across from the kitchen, but not enough to disturb you.
The entrance to the inn is rather near the Lacey Suite, but then you have a seperate door & then the sitting area w/ fireplace is the first room, then the bedroom & then the bathroom. It was so lovely, you could look out the sitting room on the water. Oh...the ceiling is very tall, so we couldn't hear anyone walking above us. I'd recommend it, as the suite is quite large for a B&B.
