help! which condo complex in incline village
WE have finally decided, along with another couple to try to find a 2 BR condo in Incline village area. We decided against some of the other places we were looking at it--and don't have to be on the beach--because we want to be where the action is, but not so much as south lake tahoe. There are so many complexes in incline village, and without ever being there, I am confused. We want access to pool/hot tub and walking distance to beach, gambling, shopping etc. Which complexes are best (i guess walking distance to the Hyatt would describe,) and which ones are only driving distance to the hyatt? I've looked at map after map, but unless you've been there, its hard to tell.

I am already second guessing my decision--i just looked at the two Marriott properties in South Lake Tahoe--they look lovely. So many have said that it is way too crowded in July on the south end--wall to wall cars, etc? Is it really that bad?

Cathee, my favorite area around Lake Tahoe for summer is Tahoma. I don't care for South Shore because it is busy and it is a large city on a lake. I can't give you any hotel or house recommendations because we usually camp at Sugar Pine Point. Have been looking at VRBO for possible future rentals in Tahoma.
If you want to be close to the action, then the Marriott in South Shore would be lovely. We stayed there a couple of winters ago (the one with the gondola to Heavenly). Very nice, nice pool. |
The Marriott resorts in South Lake Tahoe are great (I've only stayed there in the winter, though), but understand that there is nothing lovely about that part of South Lake Tahoe -- it is far from quaint -- so it really matters what you're looking for. Also, the Marriotts aren't all that close to the beach. They are fairly close to the Nevada casinos however (walking distance).
