help using United ff miles for interisland
 

Trying to use United ff miles for interisland ( flexible from July 25 to August 12). United has deal with Aloha for only 5,000 but can't manage to get seats. Has anyone had good luck waiting until closer to departure or should I drop it?

I have had good luck using my United miles for interisland flights. I've never had a problem. I usually book about three to four months out, but I've never tried for July or August, which are busier times.

we used MP FF miles to book travel via Island Air OGG-MKK r/t late June early/July. Call 1-800-241-6522. United was VERY helpful. 5,000 miles per r/t ticket. you do have to wait 12 hours though for confirmation from Island Air and these are paper tickets. Good luck! My hat goes off to United MP for this program! It's great.

Thanks for your help. I had to try 3 times but was able to get flights for 4. What a great deal at 5,000 miles!!!!

I was going to use my American Airlines ff miles to get a one way flight from Maui to Kauai but found a flight for $63 on Hawaiianairlines.com and bought it instead (saving my miles).
