Help using Priceline.com

Good morning-I'm hoping someone can help me with priceline. I'm trying to book a room but I can't get by the location window. When it says to click on your preferred location in the city you are traveling to, then proceed, I dont get anywhere, just that little globe in the corner of my screen just spinning around for minutes at a time. Is that normal or is there something else I'm supposed to do. Does that mean there are no priceline available hotels in the section of the city I'm trying to book in? thanks for your expertise

Once you enter the city name (followed by a comma and then the state abbreviation) and the dates you're looking for, then click on the "start saving" button. If there is no Priceline partner in that city or area, a message should apppear immediately advising you of this. If it's not happening then you might have an issue with your browser software. Check to see if you have any "pop-up stopper" software installed. It blocks pop-up ads from the browser window but sometimes affects functionality of certain websites. I had to uninstall my popup stopper because it affected my usage of another forum that I visit regularly.

If you use priceline, prepare to drop your drawers and bend over. They make money by ripping people off.
Friends don't let Friends use Priceline.

meows, lighten up and MYOB. Plenty of people are happy with Priceline qand use it over and over again. It's true, you get what you pay for, but in many situations, Priceline is just fine. If you don't like it, fine, don't use it. But some of us are willing to take a risk in order to save $$.

Priceline doesn't rip people off at all. It's outrageous to even suggest that. You pay, you stay. Simple enough. The "ripped off" people are the ones who want to buy a non-refundable room, not use it, and then expect their money back.

I use it all the time. I've lost money when trips were cancelled but I still don't feel "ripped off." I knew the risks and gladly took them in exchange for the great savings.

Owen, thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

Rachel,
Go to biddingfortravel.com how to use Priceline.com is explained there. On my first try using Priceline I got the Park Hyatt in San Francisco, a 4* hotel, for $46 per night. Biddingfortravel.com will tell you past winning bids and give you suggestions on what to bid for the hotel level you are looking for, just be sure to read the FAQ section.
Good Luck!

I used Priceline and ended up paying $135/night for a NYC hotel that had a promotion running for $95 (Hudson). I probably never would have found the $95 deal and $135 is still pretty good for NY. Nevertheless, felt ripped off with no recourse.

If you felt "ripped off" you have no one to blame but yourself. After all, you named your price didn't you?

"Ripped-off"?Stupid is a better word. If you go to an auction and bid twice the value for an item, who's to blame?
Wow! That was boneheaded!

So of course you blame priceline for your own stupidity? This one takes the cake!
