Help! Searching For Name of Book!
This is travel related because I want to take the book with me on a trip:-D
Someone posted a while back on a post about The Da Vinci Code how the book Scruples by Judith Krantz was a ripoff of someone elses book. The book was published in the 1960s or 1970s I think and was about someone's life. Does anyone have any idea what book I'm trying to find? |
I'm curious, too. Are you sure you're not thinking about the first book of the trilogy Scruples, which was published in 1978?

Comon' y'all! I know someone has to know this information!
I've searched on this site, on Amazon, I've googled it to death. Help! |
No. This book was published much earlier and it was based on the designer Valentine. I can't remember who gave me this information but I know it was on this site. The argument was that The Da Vinci Code was a ripoff of an earlier book that was written. |
AHA! Found it! Author: BTilke Date: 03/17/2004, 12:48 pm Message: Of course, it's fiction, but it's cheesy, superficial stuff trying to masquerade as literature. Brown considers himself a *serious* author, not a purveyor of unrealistic potboilers lifted from (uncredited) previous works. (Judith Krantz did that, too, in her Scruples series, where the Balmain background of the fashion designer Valenine character was plucked straight, with no credit, from the pages of It Isn't All Mink by Ginette Spanier, the former directrice of Balmain. Too bad, because It Isn't All Mink is a MUCH, MUCH better read and it's NOT fiction!) |
