help quick! mariner club resort

We are leaving for Orlando this Friday and I have been looking for condos in the St Pete area and I am finding that it is impossible this time of year and I stumbled upon the web page for Mariner club/Bahia beach club resort.Has anyone stayed her before? I am very interested in this area.

I'm sorry that you haven't received a response yet.

I looked up the property on the net, and found the information confusing, it looks like the area is under development, but it also looks like a great place for the money.

The outside photos look like drawings, but the room photos look spacious and intriguing.

I'm wondering how far the beach is from the condos.

I really can't help you since I don't know the area. But I would truly appreciate a trip report.

My daughter will be going to USF in Tampa in the fall, and I would really appreciate some more information.

Thanks,
Cherish

it is located in Ruskin..off rt# 41 south of Tampa..it is under constrution for more condos...there is a motel type area and condo area..w/marina,pool,tennis,tiki bar,rest.,lounge...it is on a Cockroach Bay..not beach front...thee is a small man made sand beach..not on the gulf...it is a very nice place..but not like St Pete or Clearwater..if you like a restfull place it's perfect...

Hope you haven't left yet! Although this might be a fine area to buy property, I would not go there on vacation. It is much too far from the beaten tourist path/restaurants/beaches etc. It's misleading IMHO to advertise it as beach location. Although there are some isolated beaches on Tampa Bay, one quite near me, and some people DO swim them...no way on earth I'd do it.

Alas, you're probably already gone. Sorry to not advise you sooner that this would be a beautiful place to stay, despite its name, Cockroach Bay. It is a mangrove sanctuary with a lot of local fishing, environmental activists that want to keep it pristine.

But there is no sandy beach like the ones along the Gulf. The closest sandy beach is in Bradenton south of there.

I would also be leary of being in the midst of a new development -- that translates to a lot of traffic with big trucks, and hammering and banging early in the morning.
