HELP...quick i need a SF restaurant

Everywhere I wanted to go, is booked. I am looking at a few and need advice.

How do you rate these restaurants? I don't like really loud. What is suggested?

*Slanted Door...is it SOOOOO noisy?
*Jardiniere...
*Fallaron...atmosphere? what is it like?
*Quince...there are many mixed reviews on this one, and I am not sure if I can get reservations.

Any other ideas/suggestions?

i forgot boulevard to the list. any other ideas.

Slanted door is pretty noisy.

Quince - won't be noisy. It's a small place. I liked it, but thought the atmostphere was stuffy and older (I'm 30). Others may not feel this is an issue. The pastas are fabulous.

Boulevard - is not bad noise-wise. Great food. Great restaurant.

Haven't been to Jardinere or Farallon, but have heard mixed reviews on Farallon. Also the decor is unique...

Other recs:
Piperade www.piperade.com - love this place b/c the crowd is mixed, the food is really good, and you can actually hear yourself speak.

Myth - www.mythsf.com

Town Hall www.townhallsf.com

Delfina - www.delfinasf.com

What type of restaurants (italian, american, etc. and price) are you looking for?

I really like Jardinere--not noisy IMO. Slanted Door---very noisy. Quince is lovely.

I love Farallon but it is different. W/ glowing glass fixtures on the ceiling & a somewhat loud (colors, not noise) seafood theme. The food is excellent, particularly for the $$.

would like seafood, but am open to other options.

Equinox is not noisy. We all could hear each other. Unfortunately.

I can't imagine many places being already booked, but Slanted Door still being available. Yes, it is noisy, but wonderful food.

Farallon is very nice in atmosphere, food, and service, although some seem to think it is overpriced. Since you prefer seafood, that would be my #1 suggestion!

Boulevard is simply wonderful, as far as I'm concerned.

As far as the cost @ Farallon, last time I was there (had to go solo) but my dinner, w/all courses + a half bottle of wine was about $125. (& the wine was a decent wine). Not sure what your budget is...

i am really looking into it. I also have investigated acquerello. anyone familiar with this?

if you have not already done this --go to www.opentable.com plug the day, reservation hour and number of guest and see what is available - narrow your search from there --

i have tried gary danko. they are booked. they only have 5:00pm i believe. I have done the open table thing. there is a lot of restaurants that are booked.

thanks for all your responses

Have you checked with Boulevard? They do not release any tables during prime times to Open Table. So don't go by the Open Table listings showing it not available.

Piperade is super.

We LOVED Boulevard too! Make sure you make a reservation AHEAD. It's always packed! Haven't tried SLANTED DOOR, but want to want to try it next visit.
