[Help] Public transportation from San Francisco Airport to San Jose Airport
I will go to San Jose a few days later alone, my reserved hotel is nearby San Jose Airport, but my flight will arrive at San Francisco Airport.
So I need help on the public transportation between the two airports. Can anyone provide me the detail route for me? Thanks in advance! |
It's really not easy.
One way would be to take a taxi or BART train to the Millbrae train station (the station serves both BART and Cal-Train). Take Cal-Train (which is the suburban commuter train) to San Jose, then take a taxi to your hotel. The problem is Cal-Train doesn't run very often late at night. I think there are shuttles that go between the two airports, I've linked to one, although I know nothing about it. http://montereyairbus.com/ride/index.php/rates |
I would do BART to Millbrae, then CalTrain to San Jose, then San Jose light rail or bus to your hotel. You may not need to go to San Jose airport itself. If you tell us which hotel we can give better directions.
The problem TODAY is that BART workers are on strike, so the BART system is shut down, with no end in sight. So if you are arriving in a few days you cannot count on BART, so be sure to watch the news http://bart.gov/ San Jose area transit http://www.vta.org/services/light_rail_services.html Caltrain http://www.caltrain.com/ I actually like to use google maps to give me ideas for public transportation. |
Bart/CalTrain/etc is doable. But AFAIK Monterey Airbus would be easier and about the same price
http://montereyairbus.com/ride/ They connect SFO and SJC enroute to the Monterey Peninsula. |
BART IS ON STRIKE!
SFO is running a FREE Shiuttle ot Millbrae Caltrain. Formthere you take a train SOUTH to Santa Clara and then the Airport Flyer to theSJC airport. It's a long not-easy trip. * Airport Flyer Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's Airport Flyer (Route 10) takes you between the Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the San Jose International Airport . The Airport Flyer is free and operates seven-days-aweek from 5:30 a.m. until midnight. Buses operate every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends. For more information on the Airport Flyer and route planning, contact VTA's 24-hour line at 408.321.2300, or visit the airport's web siteab |
Thanks all you guys, it's a challenge for me, I will take the google suggestions with me, and hope I can find my way. Thanks again.

Super Shuttle from SFO to San Jose (I typed in a random SJ zip code as I didn't know your hotel name) is $39 for one person (+ tips)
I would not get involved with public transport if you are in the area first time. Save this for next trip, or going back. |
