Help! Need to find a family-friendly resort in Colorado!
 

We were going to be staying at a friend's cabin outside of Boulder next month, and just learned for complicated reasons, it's unavailable. I have never been to Colorado, so I am clueless. We are flying into Denver, and would like to find a nice hotel or resort (pool, views, activities for kids, etc.) within a 2 hour's drive of Denver. Price is not really a concern -- we want something nice. I checked the Broadmoor, which looks fantastic, and it is booked.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Tons of stuff within 2 hours drive, Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail. Whta re you hopeing to do? Check out www.summitnet.com for an idea of activites in Summit County. Keystone is more of a resort with all activites available on-site, Breck is more of a town but with lots to do as well. Vail will be more costly but price is no problem worth looking at. look at www.snow.com for events at the resorts. If your a golfer take a good look at Keystone!

I have never been able to stay there but everyone raves about it. Someone esle can tell if its kid friendly

I recommend Breckenridge. We were there this past weekend and it just can't be beat for a kid-friendly Colorado destination. My boys love the Alpine Slide and they now have a zip line, gravity jump and maze at the slide also. Tons of family hiking and mountain biking opportunities and they are still rafting available nearby. My kids like the free
outdoor skate park as well. I just learned about the new-ish Whitewater Park opened near the Rec Center where you can sign up for kayaking lessons on Thursdays. A fun and beautiful area.
Have fun! The Beaver Run resort in Breck sounds like it might fit your requirements.

I personally am partial to Winter Park. Not as many tourists as some of the larger ski resorts.

Try the YMCA at Estes Park adjoining Rocky Mtn. Nationsl Park. It has everything.
