HELP! Need advice on BEVERLY GARLAND Hotel in North Hollywood, CA

Hi Fodorites!

I am planning to stay at the Beverly Garland hotel in North Hollywood, California in a couple of months.

I've read that there are many travel magazines which have coupons for this hotel. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH TRAVEL MAGAZINES HAVE BEVERLY GARLAND HOTEL COUPONS??

I am based in NYC. Thanks a million!

Curious here!! Beverly Garland as I recall played the first female cop on TV. Is it named after her? AndWhy?

I thought it was the new mom on My Three Sons.

Yep! Decoy and My Three Sons

Here are her film/ tv credits. Owns this Holiday Inn near Univeral Studios.

Beverly Garland passed away several years ago, but yes she owned the hotel. She also owned one in Sacramento, I used to stay there when going down the Cal Expo for the CA State Fair. It was right at the fairgrounds. Sadly it was sold after her death, went way down hill and when I was down there last August for the fair, they were tearing it down. I was surprised when I saw your post, I knew she had a hotel in LA also, but was surprised they still used the name in LA.

Starrsville: Thanks for the info! It looks like only companies can do the Universal Membership program, not individuals.

If anyone sees the Garland's special deals or discounts in one of the travel magazines, please post back here. THANKS!

Sorry. Google for more options. I saw a few but didn't take the time to read them carefully - obviously!

Beverly Garland is alive and well and still involved in the operations of the hotel. The coupons are in those exit-guide type freeway magazines, and you can probably print one out on roomsavers.com

Entertainment Card is also accepted as a discount here, I believe. Go to Holiday Inns website and check if the "Entertainment Rate" is available for your dates of stay. If it is, you can easily purchase an entertainment membership online at entertainment.com

If the membership saves you $30 a night or so at the hotel, it's well worth it.

The hotel sits by itself in an area where there is nothing within walking distance. They do have a shuttle, I think, to Universal Studios and to the subway system to go into Hollywood. It is a typical, bland Holiday Inn as far as design.

Thanks, Tracy! Actually I'm attending a conference being held there, so no other choice. Yes, I heard Beverly Garland does greet people at the hotel.
