Help me plan.. two free days on the east coast

I am flying into Baltimore and driving up to Atlantic City for the night. Then I have 4 nights in Cape May. I am free from Wednesday morning, when I check out of Cape May, and I don't have to fly home from BWI until Friday morning.

What would you do with this free time??? I am open to anything, just looking for some suggestions

Tim - I would head for New York City...two days is plenty for a whirwind tour, some great food and fun.

Drive back down to Baltimore and spend a couple of days. Visit the Aquarium, the Science Center, walk around the Inner Harbor. There are a lot of great restaurants too. Check out the recently opened Power Plant Live! A new Cuban restaurant opened to great reviews, (Bobalu's). There is also an ESPN Zone if that's your thing. You could also go to Fells Point, where Homicide used to be filmed. Or, on your way back from Cape May, check out Annapolis. It's a nice place to stroll around for a day. Have Fun!

I wouldn't argue with the NY-Balt.-Annapolis recommendations, but you might consider Philadelphia, too. In two days, you can visit the Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, 9th st. Market, Penn's Landing and the clubs along the Delaware Ave. riverfront.

I hate it when others ask this.
What are you 'in to'? Have you been to New York before? How about D.C.? Like history? museums?

Good ideas so far. Don't forget DC. Most of the sites to see are free, plus you won't be far from the airport when you have to leave.

However, not too far are some Civil war Historic Parks (Gettysburg, e.g.). Also you could take a hike along the Appalachain Trail.. or take a peaceful canoe/kayak ride in the nearby (to Cape May) Pine Barrons of NJ.
