JJWyf, you want to click on "post a new message" under the United States forum title so you can get responses to your question.

Starrs--your plan sounds like a good one. Just be aware that you'll need to make a reservation for the ferry from Pt Townsend to Whidbey--check the WA State ferries website for more details. This is something new that will be instituted this summer because of the reduced capacity on that route.

Should we try to do a Seattle GTG while you're here ;-)?

starrs Apr 23rd, 2008 02:04 PM

I could do a GTG on Sat the 19th if that worked for others.

JJWyf Apr 23rd, 2008 02:28 PM

NWWanderer, thanks a bunch - I am just learning. I'll try my luck at posting a new message. Happy travels

How bout a day trip to Leavenworth? Great little town in the Wash. Alps.? Or walk on the Winslow Ferry, or the SAM (one of the most magnificant collections of jade in the world), or the Space needle for lunch...or come to our island in the San Juans...two State parks on the island, and great ethnic food, walks, etc. (we got our own Kayaks...)

Man, I can think of endless things to do...how about a tour of the University, or just prowl the "Ave" for quaint shops, etc., or to West Seattle for sea food, or to Blake Island for a salmon dinner (they are still doing that, aren't then?)..

Have you done the Underground? or Pikes Street market, or the Arboretum, aquarium, etc. Just walk along the waterfront, lots to see and do.

You can 'book' for the Herbfarm if you hurry..or try Canlis, or go to the International District for fun shops..or take an Argosy Cruise on Lake WA....anyway, those things come to mind. Hope you have a great time.

I'd invite you to our beach house if you'd come...we hope to be there most of July..

I may take you up on that offer, clara. I'm waiting to sort out the details of my trip. If my kayak part of the trip is solo (group kayak trip) I'll come for a visit at your beautiful vacation home :-)

starrs, you wouldn't happen to be working the A.P. Annual conference? I found out today that I'm attending. I'll be staying at the Westin downtown. Arriving the 16th and leaving the 20th. I might be able to work in a GTG!

Starrs~ I don't know your exact dates but Corteo by Cirque de Soile is playing in town this month. It looks like an excellent show.

i also second the sculpture park and the new SAM

starrs Apr 29th, 2008 07:53 PM

Hey Cimbrone! No, I'm not. I'm just going for fun. I'll be staying with a friend in Seattle and I'd love a mini-GTG. Maybe on the 18th or 19th?

starrs Apr 29th, 2008 07:55 PM

Thanks for that link, stormygirl. I do want to see Lake Union. I read this week that the houseboat from Sleepless in Seattle was up for sale.

beanweb24 Apr 29th, 2008 07:58 PM

That's funny...I was just thinking that we should have another Seattle GTG. The first one was a lot of fun. :)

What's the realtor's #?
Maybe I can arrange a showing while I'm there :-?

:-)

NWWanderer Apr 30th, 2008 08:14 AM

I posted in the Lounge this morning about arranging a GTG for July 18 or 19. So we'll see what comes of that--hopefully we can make it happen!

clarasong Apr 30th, 2008 08:19 AM

I'm in for a GTC if we could have it at our beach house, which is about 1 hr north of Seattle...like to meet some of you folks
