Help me find a S Fran restaurant!

Last year I went to a neighbourhood restaurant up a hill, past the Owl Bar, past a small civic garden and on the right, ie the opposite side from the Owl Bar. It was an Italian, but the majority of workers were Latin American. It was rather busy and had a kitchen/prep area on the left hand side as you walked in. The restaurant had two bay windows and it looked like it had two entrances but really had one, which probably foxes the majority of newcomers. Can anyone remind me what it was?

Where's the Owl Bar?

i googled the owl bar and it seems that it is on 601 post.
yelp shows an italian restaurant called fino at 624 post.
is this what you were looking for?

Googling Owl bar gives Owl Tree. I know Fino, it can't be on a hill on Post st! Fino does have 2 entrances, one from Post, one in the back from the parking.

Are you sure it's "owl" not "hooters" ??

It is Owl Tree and the restaurant was about a five minutes' walk from there. It was on the opposite side and was not on a hill, but there was a steep hill to walk up to get there before it flattened out at the civic garden area. I looked at Fino but it did not look like the one. It had bay windows. It was very busy and had the air of a popular, local restaurant.
Maybe it was Fino's. I'll search it out when I come in June. Thanks.

OK, now we are getting somewhere. From Post @ Taylor to go up a steep hill can be only North - up Powell, or Mason - don't think there are restaurants on Taylor or Jones, or farther west. Powell and Mason have 1,000s of them!

What neighborhood is that? There are two resources you can check; try http://www.theperfectspotsf.com and email the writer, she knows just about every restaurant in the city or you can check http://www.localgetaways.com - they have tons of restaurants listed that might give you what you need. Isn't awful when you go somewhere great and then can't remember where it is or the name? I feel your pain.
