Looking for not only a beautiful five star hotel, but one that has a lot going on, great pool activities, bar scene, etc in Maui. Please help! - A great pool scene is a definite must!

Hyatt on Maui - great hotel, great pool. - Also try Grand Waliea - but
very crowded with kids.

Been to the Maui Hyatt twice and the hotel is beautiful, the pool is very nice but there really isn't any scene going on there. I don't think of the Hyatt as a party hotel. Mostly couples and families rather than the bar scene that is usually associated with singles out for the evening. I tremember the Hyatt being pretty quiet in the evening. When we were at the Marriott in Nov which is just next door to the Hyatt I noticed the peace and quiet but no bar scene.

If you are looking for "the bar scene" Wailea is definitely not the place. For this you should be in Kaanapali (which is close to Lahaina).

I agree with Rusty, you want to be in the Kaanapali/Lahaina area. They've got it going on there. Wailea, although very beautiful, is pretty quiet.
