I can't recommend one but I know of some vacation rental by owner web sites you might want to check out. I have a condo in Cape May, NJ that I rent out through http://www.vrbo.com. There are other sites as well... http://www.vrr.com http://www.vacation-properties.com. Hope this helps.
Try the Blue Marlin. AAA approved. Nice, clean, cheap motel. Also look at Courtney's Place. They have rooms and guest houses. Nice family run place. I stayed at both of those places and enjoyed myself. email me direct and I'll tell you all I know about Key West. It's my favorite destination.
Ok, Gary, We will check out the Blue Marlin...it looks appealing. We are driving down on the spur of the moment for only 2 nights...Thanks!

Old Customs House Inn, 124 Duval Street - next door to Hawgs Breath Tavern and across the street from Sloppy Joes. 1 Block from Mallory Square to watch the Sunset.
Fly down every November with a group for OffShore Super Power Boat Race - rates about $90 per night. Recommended it to some of the Parrot Head Club members(Jimmy Buffett's following)and they loved it and have already been back since the new year. Great and helpful staff.
