HELP! I need driving directions in Las Vegas to Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire and Primm NV

So for all you locals here is my situation. We arrive in Las Vegas on a Saturday morning, April 10th. We are renting a car and staying SAT night in PRIMM NV. We would like to visit Hoover Dam and Valley of Fire either before we hit PRIMM or when we leave the next morning, SUN, April 11th on our way back to the strip where we will be staying at the Monte-Carlo. I could use any help on what makes the most sense for driving as these places don't seem to be close together. Any recent feedback from the restaurants at MC would be greatly appreciated as well especially the Brew Pub or the Buffet.
THANKS....

I am not local but....

Not sure what the attraction is for you in Primm, but I guess to each their own. I would do Hoover Dam first then drive to Primm. This will require backtracking but IMHO the Dam is worth doing. Stick with the Interstates for fast driving. I am not sure about the Valley of Fire aspect so I will leave that to others.

MC is one of my favorites on the strip. I love the Brew Pub and have done lunch and dinner there numerous times. It is a casual place with great sandwiches, salads, burgers, etc. Not fine dining. Certainly sample the local beer. At night it is a popular club for the 20-30's crowd. Weekends will have a line out the door later in the evening. Not sure about Sunday nights.

Buffet I would classify as standard. Reasonably priced, good choices. Nothing special but acceptable. If I visit a buffet it is usually breakfast although I have done 1 dinner here as well.

Thanks so much Placeu2! Since you asked, I wanted to go to PRIMM to visit the outlet mall and hubby wanted to check out the rides and since we were renting a car for only SAT and SUN he suggested staying there only because the room rate was soooo much cheaper than on the strip, plus we figure with the time change we will be crashing early anyway. We still have 4 more nights at MC! Since you are familar with the MC how is the pool area and have you ever used the tennis courts?

Hoover Dam is to the SE of LV. Primm is SW. Valley of Fire is NE. You have to go through Vegas (or close to it) between any two of these places.

Therefore, these are basically three seperate side trips from Vegas.

Having said that, you should have enough time on first day to visit Hoover Dam, and then get to Primm for overnight there. Valley of FIre will have to be done some other day.

The rental car company can give you a map with directions to all of these places. Or, pick up some of the flyers in the hotel lobby or at the airport.

Monte Carlo is nice. We stayed there our first trip to Vegas in 2002. Pool is very good (wave pool and lazy river) but often has lots of kids.

We liked the microbrew beers at the Brewpub. The MC buffet was OK, typical. We wanted to try the Blackstone's steakhouse but ran out of time!

Tennis??

Round fuzzy ball, webbed rackets right??

Lol, that's about all I know. I didn't even know MC had tennis courts. The pool is great. April may be a bit early but you could run into a hot spell.

Have a great time!

One other thing

There is no "crashing early" when one is in Vegas! Doesn't matter about time change...sleep is for when you are flying home!

Hey Place2U!
Don't knock it until you've tried it My hubby and I just started playing (or trying too). That is my 40th birthday gift too myself... Try and get some excersize which will help us both loose weight! I think I would rather try and hit a fuzzy ball then go work out at a gym
And I do agree that crashing early should not happen in Vegas, but getting older, it just sucks as my brain wants to stay out but the body has a different idea Will let you know if the brain or the body wins out

OK ezmark

Don't get excited, at our advanced age (I'm 45) the ticker can't take that much. For some reason I am able to stay up past my normal bed time of 10 while in sin city. Sometimes I even make it past midnight!
