HELP!! Good, Moderately-priced, Hotel needed in BOSTON
 

I need a good, moderately-priced (under 180) hotel in Boston. Please help!

We stayed at the Midtown. It was nice and the most reasonably priced we could find.($150)

Try the Newbury Guest House. It's right in the heart of Boston and it's so beautiful... ($110 in August)

Kelly- <BR>The Midtown is about the most inexpensive hotel in Boston. I have heard that it's not bad. There are also several Howard Johnson hotels in Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge. I would call these directly, as the prices on the discount website don't appear any cheaper. The other alternative would be a B&B. There are several in Brookline that I have heard good things about. I think a B&B in Brookline would be my choice. <BR> <BR>Rose- <BR>I am not sure what you mean by "outside" of Boston. If you are planning to visit Boston, I recommend staying in the city. (Brookline and Cambridge are officially separate cities, but from a visitor's point of view are really more like sections of Boston).

Just remember as with any city there will be some areas you will want to stay in or near. Boston proper is not cheap for hotels and the May/June timeframe is really expensive because of college functions, graduations, etc. if you can get a room. Under $180 in Boston can be considered cheap not moderate. What are you going to be doing. Perhaps we can give you a better idea if we know what you are planning. <BR>

Cheryl: I am comfortable with staying within 30-40 minutes of Boston if the price is right-thats what I meant with outside of Boston-can you help-we are driving from New York so 30-40 min is okay if the hotel price is right-we are not looking for anything fancy we are just interested in touring. Kelly, If you don't mind dealing with trains and the subway systems, you might try Courtyard by Marriott in Woburn, on Mishawum road. It's right across the street from the commuter rail line into Boston. This hotel is also located very close to the junction of routes 95 and 93. Route 93 goes directly to Boston. When the road is free & clear, you can drive into Boston in 15-20 minutes. The problem is morning and evening commute traffic can be heavy and slow. If you don't plan to leave your hotel until 9:30 or so, that's ok. Alternatively, the train station is a 1 minute walk from the hotel. There are also several restaurants in the immediate area, which is convenient. I don't know how their rates go but here's their phone #: 781-932-3200.
