So what he really wants is a free English lesson, because he kinda knows his poor ESL doesn't make sense to a native speaker.
IMO ellenem has the best "translation".

Her/his screen name is Dutch, so I don't imagine that s/he is working on a website for current travel, except perhaps on contract. Rather the use of the word "recall" suggests an historical interest.

I see no evidence at all of poor English skills, only a lack of directness that can be fatal on this and other travel sites. The Internet is a bad place to be cute or clever.

Looks likes he's testing tag lines for an ad campaign - to find out if it's realistic to it's target.

And I see no benefit in "loving his place" with incorrect information - or trying to mislead people.

I wish I could help you, but since you only want help from true New Yorkers, I'm out.

Ackslander…the singer Jane Froman was a little before my time but I got to know her story thru an old Susan Hayward movie. She was almost killed when her plane crashed into Lisbon harbor. She was with a group on their way to entertain US troops during WWII. That must have been a dangerous spot to land.

I've been to Lisbon twice and find it intriguing.
