Help for Lunch between LA and San Diego

Can anyone offer a few suggestions on where to have a real nice lunch with a beautiful view of the Pacific, on the drive from LA to San Diego.

It's for a special occasion.

Thanks

Las Brisas is wonderful. Also in Laguna Beach, the patio dining area at the Hotel Laguna (on PCH, just south of Main Beach) is closer to the water and a great place for lunch.

If you are doing this on the weekend, one of my favorites is Cannons in Dana Point. They are high on a bluff, overlooking the Pacific and the Dana Point Marina but they are not open for lunch on weekdays-only weekends. There are also several good restaurants right on the water in the Dana Point Marina.

In Cardiff, there a two or three restaurants along the beach, just south of San Elijo State Beach. I think one of them is a Chart House.

Further south, there is a nice place in Del Mar, across from the old train station and right next to the lifeguard station that I enjoyed when I lived down there. I can't remember the name (Jakes?) but maybe someone from the Del Mar area can supply it.

Georges at the Cove, La Jolla. Sit upstairs on the open air balcony for great views of the Pacific.
