Help for Cincinnati Relocation
 

Hello-I'd appreciate some good advice for my upcoming relocation to Cincinnati. I'll be working out of my home and doing alot of travelling between Cincy, Indy, and Columbus. I'd like to live in a nice part of town, I'll be renting so new apartment complexes are what I'm leaning toward. I'll be living by myself, so a nice community for younger people would be great. I've been told to live outside the city on the north side, but I wonder if downtown would be better for meeting people. Anyways, I appreciate all the help you can give. Thanks

Hyde Park has a lot of character, it is about 15min north of downtown. I don't think you will find new apt complexes, more like 4 and 8 unit bldgs. But there are restaurants and nightlife within walking distance.<BR><BR>Downtown is a bit revitalized, look into 4th &amp; Plum apts, they have lofts and such. Most apts all have unique floor plans, easy access to the freeway for your trips. Also, Garfield Place should be nice.

be sure to try &quot;Cincinatti Chili&quot; (Skyline..etc.) if you are like everyone else you won't like it at first and then about 3 months later you will develop this unstoppable craving for it and you'll be hooked.<BR><BR>Can't helpyou with the neighborhood thing.

Don't forget to consider Northern Ky.--easy access to Cincinnati and great neighborhoods--and people. I wouldn't recommend downtown.

I second the Skyline Chili - I can't go to Cincy on a weekend without eating it.<BR>Downtown Cincy and U of Cinn has pockets of bad poverty, unfortunately. If you are traveling a lot, I would locate out near interstate access. Gp

Hi, Jerry - welcome in advance to Cincinnati!<BR><BR>As Karen said, the Hyde Park area has a lot of character - beautiful homes, lots of shops and restaurants, and a Graeter's Ice Cream at Hyde Park Square. If you're going to be working out of your home, it might be just right for you - you could take a break and walk or bike to the square. <BR><BR>On the other hand, if you're interested in a newer apartment complex with lots of amenities (and plenty of parking), you might want to go further north of the city - to Blue Ash, Montgomery, or Landen. Like Hyde Park, all of these areas would place you close to I-71 for easy access to Downtown and to Columbus. However, as a bonus, these areas would also provide easy access to 275-W to Indianapolis.<BR><BR>Enjoy the area! Soon you'll be asking for a &quot;pop&quot; when you want a soft drink, and you'll be saying, &quot;Please?&quot; when you want people to repeat themselves!
