Help !! Feb. flights to Florida

We'e been having a horrible time finding flights from upstate NY to Tampa during Pres. week in February for under $400. Have looked on Orbitz, expedia etc. Any and all suggestions welcome!! Thanks.

Presidents Week is the busiest time of year for Florida so flights will be expensive.

Look at surrounding airports like Orlando.

Go to www.ITASoftware.com and put in your departure city and Tampa for your arrival and use a 150 mile radius.

You did sort of wait until the last minute.

Southwest will take you thru BWI from Albany for $320 if you leave on Thursday
and return on Tuesday. Valentines Day and a 3 day weekend !
Good Luck!

I got $178 from Buffalo to Jacksonville and $181 from Buffalo to Tampa February 11-17th on ITASofware.

Yes, I should have clarified- I'd like to leave from Albany, but would also consider Hartford, Stuart, Syracuse. Departure on 2/13,14 or 15. I know it's prime time but if anyone has ideas... Thanks razzle, and yes, go travel, I will check Orlando also.

Try JetBlue as well. They have flights to Tampa from Syracuse. www.jetblue.com

Good luck and welcome to Tampa when you get here!

You'll probably have to wait until the 16th to leave to get a lower fare. Hartford might be cheaper, and return on 21 or 22 will be difficult. 20 or 23 a bit easier.

There is an airport in St. Petersburg that has many airlines, some which cater mostly to the cruise industry. If you google the airport and find its web site, you can check which airlines fly there. This is a very nice airport, much less crowded than Tampa's, and only 20 minutes from Tampa.

Good luck.

If you're willing to drive to Newburgh, check out flyseal.com. They still have availability to St. Petersburg on the 11th (7pm departure) returning on the 15th or 16th.

there is an AIRFARE war on right now..
CALL you airline of choice and start giving them dates...it should not run you more than $188 max

From what I've experienced and heard, airfares go DOWN on Tuesday (just after midnight on Monday) so I'd suggest you research your airfares on that day.

Others have given very good advice, if you combine all of it, you should have some luck on lowering the airfare... GOOD LUCK!

Check out allcheapfares.com. I checked their fares yesterday for flights out of Grand Rapids, MI to Miami in October, and they had 2 Delta tickets for 425.00 total. Then I went directly through Delta and got 2 tickets for 375.00!! Same flights, times, everything. They may have something to Tampa area as well. Good hunting!!

I know you said you've been finding horrible flights on Orbitz, but I've always had such good luck with them. Have you tried using their deal detector option?? Basically Orbitz will let you know when a good fare comes up for your search. It's worth a shot! Good Luck..

Probably too late but you could opt to fly into CLearwater/St Pete, Orlando, Ft Myers, Ft Lauderdale as alternatives. It might be worth the $$$ vs driving time.
