Help- Do you live in Tamarac FLoirda??

I am driving myself crazy trying to find a clean, inexpensive (approx. $100.00 senior rate) for late June, eary July for myself, daughter and 2 grandkids. Need to stay in the Tamarac area but really would like to be close to the water. If somebody that lives in the area knows of a decent place-please please help. I have look at pictures of almost every hotel/motel there, Trip advisor it and get bad reviews. Please help

Tamarac is no where near the ocean and it is not a particularly great place to be staying. If you have a car you should consider hotels in Fort lauderdale on the beach. It would be about a 25-30 minute drive to Tamarac.

Which brings me back to my original question, can someone please give me a hint of some decent places? My son is in Tamarac but I want to see the ocean, we will have a car. He doesn't stay in hotels.

Any hints????

Hi

I don't live there but, my in-laws do.

Here are 2 hotels in Tamarac:
Comfort Inn
Homestead Studio Suites Hotel

Here are a few choices in Plantation, a few miles from Tamarac:
Staybridge Suites
Amerisuites
Comfort Inn

Not sure of the prices but, this is a start. Good luck.

If you want to see the ocean, then stay by the ocean and visit him when you need to. The beach is about 20 minutes from Tamarac (there are a bunch of hotels on AIA) and then you can just go right down Commercial Blvd to Tamarac when u want to visit him.

getting back to my original question (which only Lewis answered and I thank him) I know I can stay by the ocean and visit him in Taramar but I need info. on clean, decent places to stay.

I hope this doesn't come accross as cranky because I do not mean it to but I need help and can not go by pictures on web sites.

Thank again for info everyone.

You need a map! If you can't find one, go to mapquest.com and get a map of where your son lives (put his address in the form). Normally I would say you have to decide which is more important, being near your son or being near the ocean, but since ALL the hotels/motels in Tamarac seem to get dreadful reviews, I don't think there really is a decision.

I think you'll see Pompano Beach, Lauderdale-by-the-sea and Sea Ranch Lakes are areas due west of Tamarac on the beach. Lauderdale-by-the-sea is a very popular area with relatively inexpensive hotel/motel options. Here are 3 previous threads on hotels in LBTS

Your other option is to look for an apt. rental. You could check vrbo.com (vacation rental by owner).

Sorry, I should have said those areas are due EAST of Tamarac, of course.

We have relatives in Tamarac as well, but have stayed at the Bahia Mar Hotel on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. It's not fancy, but it is clean, it's across the street from the beach, and it's an easy drive to Tamarac.

You can check availability and rates on their website:
http://www.bahiamarhotel.com/

Another option is to attempt to bid on Priceline and select the location that makes most sense for you.

Good luck!

I live about 20 minutes north of Tamarac. I would suggest the Beachcomber Resort on Pompano Beach. I stayed last June for an event with my daughter and some other mothers and their daughters. It is nothing fancy but the units are clean, some have small kitchens and they are right on the beach. I think we paid about $149 a night. Good Luck!

Thank you to all of you who gave me some hotel names, this is what I need. I don't like a dirty house, I certainly don't want a dirty hotel room, lol. It is really hard to look at pictures of hotels and to judge by that alone. Thank you again. Margie
