Help choosing a hotel -- The Benjamin or Ink48?
Hi all -- I'm planning on taking my girlfriend to a hotel in NYC for a romantic evening together. Since I live in the city, I actually haven't stayed in many hotels around town, so I'm looking for some advice. We're bringing our dog with us, so I'm looking at dog-friendly hotels. Any thoughts on which hotel we'd enjoy more -- the Ink48 or the Benjamin? Neighborhood isn't an issue, since we're not sightseeing or anything -- I'm just wondering which hotel you guys think is nicer to stay at. (The Benjamin is a bit pricier, but that's okay if it's also a nicer place.) Thanks!!

When in NYC with our dog, we always stay at the Benjamin.
First of all, this is a very dog friendly hotel. Every dog is a star whether they really are or not! They send up a doggie basket of a myriad of things from bed, dishes, goodies, shampoo, spritz, etc. I love this hotel and the location is great to grab drinks at the Campbell Apartment. The pillow concierge is exceptional to. They have a list of about 20+ pillows. Have a great time and their bar downstairs makes a great drink and the calamari too. |
Dear Jaa37,
My name is Andrew Labetti and I am the General Manager at the Benjamin. We would love to have you here to spend a romantic evening with your girlfriend. We also have a great program for pets called the Dream Dog program. It includes a pet bed, bowls, organic dog snacks, and everything to make your four legged friend comfortable. Please feel free reaching out to me directly at the hotel and I will peronslly make the arrangements for you and make sure you get our best rate available. I will also assure that we exceed all of your expectations of us. I hope to hear from you. 212.715.2500 My best, Andrew Labetti |
Wow..how great is that!
Lots of tv production companies use the Benjamin hotel because they take such good care of all of us. Plus, they have the best room service breakfast! This is one of my favorite hotels in all of NYC besides the Four Seasons and St. Regis but you can't beat the price and they take dogs! Love the in-suites rooms too. My doggie still uses all the goodies.. Thank you Andrew! |
Who's being romanced, the girl or the dog?

Ha! This thread gives you an insight into how nutty we dog owners can be sometimes. Thanks for the info, and thanks for the note, Andrew -- I may be in touch soon. Any other opinions out there, feel free to drop them here.

My pleasure. Good luck on your search, hopefully we see you here at The Benjamin.

Other than the Ink being newer, the Benjamin probably wins. Have a look at photos on oyster.com

Just wanted to say that we stayed at The Benjamin, I proposed, and she said yes! The hotel was wonderful in every way, and the staff really treated us like royalty. Highly recommended...

Congrat's jaa37!
What a wonderful place to propose. Hope your doggie was present. Did you let the GM, Andrew know? That is such wonderful news. Again, congratulations! |
Congratulations! When's the wedding?
|
Very nice. Is the dog in the wedding party?
|
We loved the Benjamin!

Probably next spring. Lizzy (the dog) was there, too, though she didn't show a whole lot of interest in the ring. (She did, however, enjoy the dog biscuits.) Thanks for all of the well wishes!
