Well, I just checked several past threads where BK was getting on your nerves... I still think many of you need a thicker skin.

Frankly, I think you all should ignore most of his comments, especially when they are clearly opinions (and not statements of fact). If he's wrong on a factual statement, go ahead an correct him. If you don't agree with his opinion, then just state your own, if you haven't already. I think he'd keep his comments to a minimum if you wouldn't always challenge his opinions.

Anyway, I know you Texans will do as you please, so I'll get off my soap box...

luv2, let us know if you need any help settling in; the people on this forum are pretty helpful.

luv2cthings Feb 6th, 2008 06:20 PM

Thanks volcanogirl, will do.

oh I like that idea you can bring your own food in!!! I wish they would do that at other places too.....

luv2cthings,

I agree when you said
'As far as his "what does it stand for post", since he was asked, he gave a very honest opinion.'

You're right. Ask and you shall receive. Just don't blame me if I answered your question and you don't like the answer. If you ask me an opinion, I will give you it without sugarcoating.

Another poster asked me what it meant, and I responded. In retrospect, I think that poster was baiting me (and I fell into that trap). Nobody else saw or understood that.

luv2cthings,

By the way, I appreciated your civil tone and neutral analysis of the situation. I also believed that I was just stating my "opinions" and couldn't believe why people got so upset.

By the way, in my previous post, when I said "ask and you shall receive" etc... I was talking in generalities and not referring to you personally. I was just trying to point out that I just answered the question posed to me without sugarcoating it. I will be more careful when posting on a forum where Houstonites may be.

volcanogirl- It has been so long since I attended a baseball game somewhere other than the Ballpark in Arlington, I forgot we are kind of unique in that regard.

It works out great for budget-minded families and picky eaters. I usually stop at Subway on my way to the Ballpark. Unless it's "Dollar Hot Dog Day", then you know I'm waiting 'til I get to the park! Funny story- my daughter was pregnant with her first child and happened to go into labor in the early afternoon of "Dollar Hot Dog Day". She and her husband had tickets and she SO loved DHDD, that she refused to not go. She went to the game to get her dogs before heading on to the hospital! hahaha!

sarge, that's hilarious! What a devotee! I really thought it was great since ballpark food can be so expensive. We've been to parks around the country since my husband is a sports nut, and that's the only place we've ever seen it. We saw people with coolers and thought that was pretty amazing.

Maria, I can imagine you toting in your pomme frites!

Just got an email from Astros.com that single game tickets go on sale this Thursday at 9am Houston time.

Hope you can work in a game. Just FYI, we prefer to sit on the third base side of the field to avoid the sun that sometimes floods the 1st base side. That being said, the sun moves quickly enough that if you can get good seats on either side you'll be fine.

adehughes Feb 8th, 2008 04:25 AM

Thanks for that again I will get my tickets for the game asap

cheers

Have fun at Grist Mill to all those who are going this weekend. I'm so sorry I can't make it but perhaps next time!

ade, you crack me up! Yes, it's all about the atmosphere - have a hot dog, nachos, and a cold beer. Today was the first day I felt like summer is coming; it's been cool and in the 70s up until now, but today we had bright sunshine and temps in the 80s. Go 'stros!
