Helicopter Tour from Hilo
 

We will be visiting the Hilo area next month and would appreciate any tips on helicopter tours.

I'm no expert - did it once a few weeks ago - but I was told to do it early in the morning. We had an unusual occurrence, vog coming towards Hilo rather than blowing west and away, but we still thought it the highlight of our trip.

Here's a company that has 45 minute flights, bookable online for $136. I think Safari Helicopters was recommended to me by the Dolphin Inn people in Hilo who are very knowledgeable and well connected.

It is an amazing experience. I was able to get some great photos, so take your camera.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention we were quite happy wtih Blue Hawaiian. I imagine Safari would have been a similar experience.
