Helicopter Flights over Grand Canyon
My husband & I and our 4 kids are heading to Las Vegas in April, we are keen to do a helicopter flight over the grand canyon. I've been on line and found a wealth of tour operators. Any advice on who to use or not to use ?
Is it cheaper to buy on line or when we get there? |

Haven't yet done the Grand canyon, but hope to this fall and know who I'll use based on having done sevaral night helicopter flights over Las Vegas with a couple of different companies.
I'll defintely use and recommend Maverick tours www.maverickhelicopter.com Excellent equipment, facilities and pilots. Have a great time! |
just back from the Grand Canyon, we opted for a plane instead of a helicopter - ($75 pp) we flew with Grand Canyon airlines just outside of the South Entrance. Professional team, clean, views outstanding for photo opts, the ride was just under an hour. Headphones combining music and information.
The Helicopter options were for 30 minutes, they flew lower into the canyon but the ride was 30 minutes, cost slightlt higher and did not seem to cover as much ground. |
You might want to do some research on the safety issues surrounding helicopter tours of the Canyon. There's no way I'd take my kids on one of these flights.

We used AirStar helicopters last September and were very pleased with it. It was expensive but worth every penny. We drove to the Canyon from Vegas though so I'm not sure if this company has flights departing from Vegas.

I have used Vision Air twice. Book the Vision Deluxe Air and Ground Tour. They provided pick up from our hotel (MGM). We flew into Grand Canyon Airport, had breakfast and then a bus took us into the Park and to 3 different areas of the south rim. It was a all day excursion. We had a blast. The scenery was beautiful. The cost was $199.00 pp. We called the company direct and we actually got a cheaper quote. Their # is 702-263-6263
